About the Tewkesbury YMCA Railway Society
The Tewkesbury YMCA Railway Society was formed in 1981 and is a friendly, non-profit group for anyone with an interest in railways — from model layouts and miniature lines to standard and narrow gauge, preservation, and diesel, electric, and steam traction both in the UK and worldwide.
We currently have over 55 members of all ages who meet weekly to enjoy a varied programme of railway-related talks, visits, and presentations.
When do we meet?
We gather every Tuesday evening at the YMCA, Church Street, Tewkesbury.
Every fortnight, a guest speaker is invited to give a presentation — this might be a slideshow, video, or cine film.
On the alternate weeks, members share their own slides, photos, videos, or digital presentations.
If you live locally and have an interest in railways, why not come along one Tuesday evening? You don’t need to be a member to attend — visitors are always welcome. If you enjoy your visit, we’d love you to join us.
Membership is just £15 a year!
There isn’t another railway society like it!
